Chronic inflammation is at the heart of many health issues, from digestive disorders to autoimmune conditions, heart disease, and even mental health challenges. Our AntiInflammatory Gut Cleanse Program is designed to help you target this root cause, restore gut balance, and bring vitality back to your life.
According to Ayurveda, good health is one of the essentialities to boost the metabolic activities of our body. Imbalanced state of Agni (digestive fire) leads to improper digestion making our bodies vulnerable to the accumulation of ama, which easily gets deposited in body tissues, creating an imbalance leading to diseases.
Panchakarma helps to prevent it with traditional Ayurvedic cleansing processes that completely flush out the toxins, successfully restores innate health and healing ability of the body.
Acute Inflammation - If you ever cut your finger, bruised a toe or had a throat infection, you have likely experienced at least some of the four signs of acute inflammation: redness, swelling, pain and heat. Acute inflammation is temporary and resolves once the body has dealt with the issue.
Systemic (Chronic) inflammation – (It is the kind that affects the whole body – systemic) When acute inflammation becomes chronic — due to factors like stress, poor diet, toxins, or infections — it can have detrimental effects on health.
Chronic inflammation can linger for months or even years, it is harmful because it gradually damages healthy cells, tissues and organs. This increases our risk of developing a wide range of health ailments and also contribute to the progression of diseases the body is already dealing with.
At the core of inflammation-related diseases often lies the gut. This is because the gut plays a
central role in the body’s immune function. About 70-80% of the immune system is located in
the gut, and an imbalance in gut health can trigger systemic inflammation throughout the body.
Studies show that chronic inflammation often begins in the digestive tract—where
imbalances in the gut microbiome can ignite everything from mood disorders to autoimmune
flare-ups.
- Ghosh, T. S. et al. (2020). Gut microbiome modulates inflammation in metabolic and
autoimmune diseases. Nature Reviews Immunology.
Our gut has trillions of bacteria both good & bad. In general, there needs to be a good balance between them both, preferably more good gut bacteria.
When the digestive system is compromised due to poor diet, stress, disrupted circadian rhythm, drug abuse, infections, exposure to environmental toxins, the balance of bacteria in the gut (the microbiome) is disrupted. This disruption (dysbiosis – more bad gut bacteria and less good gut bacteria) can lead to intestinal permeability (in simple terms perforation in the gut lining) — a condition also known as leaky gut.
Usually, only nutrients that are absorbed in the gut will enter the blood circulation. But, in case of leaky gut, as there are tiny perforations in the gut - not just nutrients but, harmful substances like toxins / bacteria and undigested food particles, leak into the bloodstream, which triggers an immune response and causes widespread inflammation.
This inflammation can then spread to other organs, contributing to a variety of chronic diseases (especially auto-immune disorders).
